Heckington Singers is a community based singing group which was formed in 2012. The choir is open to all ages and abilities, is non-selective and based on the enjoyment and fun of singing in a local community group. There are currently about 65 members of the choir ranging from seasoned, experienced singers to absolute beginners. We will never audition or turn anyone away who wants to join us. Heckington Singers perform two concerts a year; one in the summer and one at Christmas time. We rehearse for an hour once a week on a Monday evening at 7.30 pm, during school term time, in Great Hale Village Hall, Little Hale Road, Great Hale, Lincs, NG34 9LH.
We are fortunate to have the commitment and enthusiasm of our professional musician, Mr Anthony Baldery as our Musical Director. We sing a wide variety of music from choral classics to arrangements of lighter music, some of which are taken from shows and films, as well as traditional old songs and some more recent popular music. The Christmas concert is about festive singing which also involves the audience with the more traditional carols. There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in choir rehearsals, after all we are there to have fun! We do, however, try hard to learn challenging music and want to sound at our best in concert. The choir has also enjoyed sharing their performances with other local musical groups to add variety to the concerts.
If you would like to come and sing with our community based group, and also enjoy the social interaction of an evening out, come and give us a try; we welcome everyone. You will find us at Great Hale Village Hall, Little Hale Road, Great Hale, NG34 9LH, every Monday evening at 7.30 pm, during school term time. There are no joining fees and members pay £20 a term. If you would like any further information, please contact us using the details on the contact page.
